2.2 (g): Process information by identifying different points of view
Specific Objectives:
At the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
1)    Answer 8/10 questions correctly individually based on the video shown.
2)    Give reasons for every arguments/stands made during the debate session.  
3)    Deliver their points by using proper expression, gestures and movement.
4)    Present the activities successfully in the class.

Thinking skills (CCTS): Generating ideas and Application
Teaching Aids: Video, worksheet 1, cue cards
Previous Knowledge: Students have the previous knowledge on debate.

(10 mins)
Eliciting students’ responses:
-      Teacher shows a video clip of the poem with scenes reflecting the poem He Had Such Quiet Eyes line by line.
-       Teacher asks the student:
-       “What do you understand about the video?”
-       “Who is the victim in the poem?”
-       Teacher explains to the students about what they are going to learn.




-       Students make guesses

WHILE-READING
(45 mins)
-      Teacher presented the information on debate session and how debate works in voicing out opinion.
-       Teacher teaches the rules of debate.
-       Teacher sets the time for each person to speak.
-       Teacher divides the students to form two groups.
-       Teacher chooses some students to be in charge as time keeper and other required posts.
-       Students listen to teacher’s explanation.
-       Students form two groups
-       Some students get in charge to handle the debate session.
-       Students respond to teacher’s questions if any.

POST-READING
(15 mins)
-    Teacher distributes worksheets to students.

-       Teacher ask the students to answer the question individually.

-       Teacher discusses the answers with the students.
-       Students read the instruction and answer the questions.
-       Students respond to teacher’s questions.
